AUDIOPRO USB Microphone - Computer Condenser Mic

Your equipment choices are going to depend on recommendations and money. For me, starting out required a lot of planning, waiting, and buying something with a lower price tag because I don't have a huge budget for my channel right now. I figured I would pick this microphone up from Amazon and return it if I didn't like it. It had to be better than my gaming headset...right? I thought about asking my brother if they had an extra one around his recording studio, but I really need my own stuff.

Guys, seriously, this mic is amazing! It's by no means a super high quality like with more expensive name brands, but it's also not some cheap, crappy mic either. It's solid construction from metal caught my eye first. It's also set up to let me listen while I record via my headset. I love this thing! I'll be honest though, you're going to pick up sounds you didn't even know were happening...that's how good this mic is. So be sure to have a pop filter and maybe even some sort of soundproofing for your recording sessions. But that's something you'll need with any good mic.

Pro Microphone Isolation Ball with 2-Layered Pop Filter

Now, I can't really get soundproof panels, even the collapsible and portable ones, in the space I have now. So my alternative for a cleaner sound with little to no background noise was this Isolation Ball and Pop Filter. It's made of a high density foam and works really well for my needs. It does add some bulk to my microphone, but not so much that it's in my way. I'm pretty satisfied with this one! You'll always need some sort of pop filter and possibly foam over your mic depending on your environment, so this is a solid find that doesn't break the bank!

4K HDMI Capture Card, AV Capture Card for Streaming

So, I normally play on a PS5, which has built in recording ability for me. I'm able to transfer my stuff to a thumb drive or portable hard drive or even grab it from the PS App. So I haven't had a need for a Capture Card. I can also stream straight from my PS5. So this wasn't even a concern until it came to my Switch, which only records 30 seconds of footage. The timing pretty much made it impossible for me to get the higher quality ones and name brand ones that most streamers are using. So, I went with this cheap little thing from Amazon. Figured it would be decent enough or get returned.

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this bad boy. It works with my Mac, OBS picked it up right away, and it lets me record and still have output on my big TV. I've really enjoyed the addition of this to my content creation gear. It's not very big, it has an HDMI In and an HDMI Out for recording to your computer and sending your gameplay to your regular TV setup as well. You can even hook up your mic and headset. It also came with an adapter for USB C computers like my Mac. So for my needs, this has been great. I would say, if you're going to begin recording content or streaming and you want to test the waters before going all in with expensive equipment, this is a good capture card to start with!

WD 4TB Elements Portable External HD

Let's be honest, we can always use more storage. I have external or extended storage for my PlayStations and computers. After I began creating content, I needed more. I need a place to store my recorded gameplay until I can edit it. I also want to have a backup of my edited videos that I post to YouTube. Whether something happens and my videos are deleted or I want to post to a second channel or use footage in another video later, I need plenty of space to keep things. So I always tell everyone to get external hard drives and thumb drives to store your content.

Honestly, guys, I would love to get a ton of these to soundproof my entire office. This is where I do my audio recording and everything else. My mic picks up every little sound from the far reaches of my house. So these are great. But there are also portable ones you can set up and put away. Whatever your option is, soundproofing your gaming space is a great idea for quality streaming...and it will keep others in your home from being disturbed.

This is more my speed for my current home and set up. It's small, can be set up and taken down quickly, and my cat's won't destroy it by climbing it like they would on wall mounted ones. Not to mention, it's portable, so I can record in a different place if I wanted to.
